The purge is over ...

Hello!  It's been a month and I thought I'd let you know what's happening in Linda's craft room.  But first, it may not officially be Spring yet, but it surely has arrived here in Northern California.  Trees are budding and blooming.  Daffodils and paperwhites and poppies (my favorite) are popping up everywhere.  And today I saw the most gorgeous tulips when I was out walking Marley.

My purging is now complete although I still have a full bin of stamps and dies that I need to add to my For Sale page.  Of the rest of the purge pile, my scrappy friends have taken what they wanted and the rest has been donated.  Feels good!  So how did I celebrate?  Ran to IKEA and bought another Raskog cart.  Yes, I did!

So, I've decided that I really like the mixture of traditional and pocket scrapbooking, where one page of a two-page layout is a traditional scrapbook layout and the second page is a coordinating pocket layout.  I've completed several of these layouts so far and I really like them.

Over the last several months, I have subscribed to three pocket scrapbooking kit clubs - Studio Calico, Gossamer Blue and Cocoa Daisy.  Is that too many?  I just love what I've gotten so far.  And I like that I can also get the scrapbook kits, coordinating papers and other add-ons if I like them.  I love that the kits have fun, coordinating embellishments, everything you need to make awesome layouts.

I worked really hard and finally finished my Utah National Parks album last weekend.  Since I hate my handwriting, I used my computer and a typewriter font to do the journaling.  I like how it turned out - I hated the hassle of doing it on the computer, then printing it on cards.  So I decided that I need to get a typewriter.  I found an old Olympia on eBay and bought it.  Right now, it's in a repair shop getting all cleaned up and a new ribbon put in it.  I really have no idea if I'll like it, but we'll see.  Since I got it, I've seen typewriters with wide carriages.  What?  I could have gotten one that would fit a 12x12 page?  Hmm...  Let's see how much I like the one I got; maybe I'll need to trade it up for one with a wide carriage.

I'd love to share the layouts I have made so far but first I need to figure out how best to photograph them.  I don't have a good spot for natural light.  Cards are easy to photograph, but they're a lot smaller.  If you have any tips, please let me know.

I'll end this post with some of my favorite recent finds:
