2012 - Year in Review

Since today is the last day of 2012, I decided to take a look back at each of my posts in 2012 and choose my favorite creation for each month.

January
This year I decided to make my Christmas cards throughout the year.  I really enjoyed it and will definitely continue to do this.  I love this paper from October Afternoon and used it to make my first Christmas cards for 2012.

February
I love Halloween and Waltzingmouse has some of my favorite Halloween stamps.  Paired with some awesome patterned papers and distressing, I created one of my favorite Halloween cards of the year.

March
I just love these two little lambs!  What a great excuse to get my Copics out and color!

April
This was a card that truly took on a life of its own.  It turned out completely differently from what I had in mind when I started.

May
Love these colors together and those cute little hearts.

June
A friend asked me to make a card for an Edwardian wedding.  Can't say this is exactly Edwardian but I really like how it came out.

July
I was designing for a sketch and was struggling with what to do for the circles.  Once I got the idea to use a golf ball, the rest of it just fell into place.

August
The challenge was to make an orange Christmas card.  'nuff said.

September
I love, love patterned papers!  And these were no exception!

October
Love the papers!  Love the stamp set from Market Street Stamps!

November
One of the fun projects I put together this year for my fellow crafters at work.

December
One of my last Christmas cards of the year.  Love this Nativity Border die from Taylored Expressions!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

My favorite Christmas gifts!

I just have to share my favorite Christmas gifts this year!  I love, love my new tote from Michael Kors:

The color is a gorgeous purple-pink!
This is just perfect for me to carry my Macbook Air to and from work everyday in style!

My next favorite gift is the Silhouette Portrait.
I've been tempted to get a Silhouette for some time now, but I just couldn't justify it.  I already have a Cricut that is collecting dust.  But when I saw the release of the new, smaller Portrait, my resolve melted away and it went on my Christmas wish list.

I hope Santa brought you everything you wished for this year!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches #66

It's happy Wednesday again!  There's a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches today!  This sketch comes from Tui Nathan and what a great sketch!  How do these gals keep coming up with such great sketches?  I originally made a birthday card for my brother-in-law using this sketch, but when I realized that this was the last sketch before Christmas, I just had to go back and make a special holiday card wishing everyone a happy holiday and new year.

One of my favorite things about A Muse Studio papers (solid and patterned) is that it is white (or cream) on the other side, so when you fold it to make a card base, you have white (or cream) inside for your sentiments or notes.  A Muse Studio papers are a lighter weight paper (80 lb., I think) and I thought that I would never like that for card bases, but I am learning to appreciate it.

I originally stamped the snowflake in Versamark and tried to heat emboss it with Zing red glitter embossing powder, but the glitter didn't stick well for me.  So I decided to just stamp the snowflake in A Muse Cherry ink and then add subtle glitter to it with a Copic Spica clear glitter pen.  You probably cannot see it in the photo, it is very subtle.

This was supposed to be my last design team assignment for Freshly Made Sketches, but I am very excited to say that I will be staying on through March 2013!  Yay!  I am so honored to be on this team - what an awesome group of ladies!

Here is Tui's awesome sketch this week:

And here is the birthday card I made for my brother-in-law, using this sketch also:

I used one of my favorite Authentique paper pads (Original collection).  Great guy colors and patterns!  And I couldn't resist using an old chipboard sticker I've had in my stash for a long time.  It was so easy to make this card - what a great sketch by Tui!

I am so looking forward to the holidays!  This is my last week of work and then I'm off for two weeks.  I love that we shut down for the holidays - my favorite job perk of all!

And the design team at Freshly Made Sketches is also taking a break for the holidays.  We'll be back on January 2nd for a new year of clean and fresh sketches for you!  We wish you the happiest of holidays!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Merry and Bright

Today I have my final card for the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge.  I love this challenge!  It really helped me to complete my Christmas cards early this year!  And it helps that some of my favorite Christmas stamps are from Waltzingmouse.

The challenge for December was to incorporate green in your card.  I went for a clean, clean look with mostly white space.  I stamped the wreaths with different colors of green ink from A Muse Studio and add some little pops of red.  Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #65

It's that time again!  Time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!  This week's sketch is brought to you by Linda Callahan, and it is such a versatile sketch!  I can definitely see using this sketch over and over again!

I'm taking a step back from Christmas again this week with a birthday card.  I originally made this card for my sister but then I got a different idea for a birthday card for her (you'll see that card in January).

Love those sunflowers!  And here is the awesome sketch from Linda:

Freshly Made Sketches #64

Hello!  It's time once again for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!  Here we are in December and the final countdown to Christmas!  At this point I am definitely pretty much done with my holiday crafting - cards all made (and most are even addressed and ready to mail too! Woo hoo me!), my craft fair projects are all done, packed up and ready for the fair tomorrow, and most presents have been made/bought/mailed.  We still don't have lights up or a Christmas tree yet, but hopefully that will all be done by the weekend.

Last week I got my Valentine's Day release order from A Muse Studio and I could not wait to dig into it.  So many fun new products to play with.  And Cindy Hall's fun sketch this week was just perfect for what I wanted to do.

Don't you just love those sequins?  What a fun embellishment!  And I added rhinestones to bling them up even more.  This next photo shows them off a little better:

And here is the fun sketch from Cindy for this week!
