Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!  Today's sketch is from Jennifer Timko and it's a great one!  I really needed a Thank You card for the mother of my work colleague.  This sketch turned out to be perfect for it especially since I already knew I wanted to use the Notched Flower dies from Papertrey Ink.

Love that patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket!  Great colors!  And isn't that a great sketch!  Thanks Jennifer!!

On a side note, I am still working on the Great Purge.  I've pretty much finished going through all my stamp sets and have them all listed on my For Sale page.  Whew!

Be sure to stop by Freshly Made Sketches and check out all the wonderful creations from the Clean Team!  And please come and play.  I'd love to see your take on this week's sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

May Peace Be Yours

Today I have my September card for the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge.  Yay!  I actually got it done in September.  This month's challenge was 3-2-1 challenge - 3 stamps, 2 embellishments and one circle.

For this card, I used my Seasons of Love stamp set.  The three stamps I used were the large star, the snowflake and the sentiment.  I stamped the large star in red and cut it out.  I then stamped the star again  in green and cut out just the circle in the center.  I then stamped the snowflake and sentiment on it and layered it on top of the red star with foam dimensionals.  And because the star is really a tag, there is a spot on the star to punch out a hole.  Since I wasn't using it as a tag, I used a large pearl to cover it.  I don't really like the pearl there, but it's better than not being there.  I haven't used my Zva crystal flourishes in a while and I thought this card was the perfect chance to use one again.

I was really bummed when the large star stamp tore when I was taking off the acrylic block.  I bought this stamp set used a year or so ago.  It was very yellowed when I got it but seemed to be just fine.  More recently I have noticed a strong vinegar-like smell emanating from the stamp set.  I was really surprised when I pulled up on one of the points of the star and it easily tore off.  When I pulled on one of the other points, it also tore off.  I have never had this happen to a stamp set before and I have no idea what could cause it.  Oh well, I'll just put this stamp set on my wish list for the next time I am buying stamps from Waltzingmouse - love getting Royal Mail!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #53

Happy Wednesday!  It's time to start a new year of awesome Freshly Made Sketches by the Clean Team - a group of very talented ladies!  Wasn't last week fun?  It was really fun for me!  There were so many amazing submissions in the FMS One Year Anniversary sketch challenge!

Congratulations to LeAnne and Narelle!  They will joining us as guest designers for the month of October.  Yay!

I was so excited when I saw the sketch for this week from Tui.  Woo Hoo!  What a perfect sketch for using patterned paper.  My first thought was this would be perfect for using up scraps.  Then I remembered that I recently got a new Fall paper collection from BoBunny and I just had to break it open.  I also had a cute new mini stamp set from Wplus9 called Pretty Patches: Pumpkin that hadn't seen ink yet.  Don't you love it when the card practically makes itself?

I am really pleased with how this card turned out, love those papers.  I might have to make a few more of these.

Here is the awesome sketch from Tui:

Freshly Made Sketches #52 - One Year Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Freshly Made Sketches!

One year of awesome sketch challenges!

Happy Wednesday!  And happy first anniversary to Freshly Made Sketches!  Woohoo!  I am thrilled to  be able to share in this special day!  This week you get to choose any of our past sketches here!

I needed to make a birthday card for my sister-in-law and I wanted to use the Girly Graphic T-shirt stamp and die from My Favorite Things.  This fun set has been sitting on my desk waiting for some ink. Now I needed a sketch - so I pulled out my handy dandy printout of all past Freshly Made Sketches to find the perfect sketch.  I didn't have to look far - Sketch #4 was perfect!

This is what I came up with:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch.  The hardest part was trying to decide what color card stock to use for the T-shirt (had to bring hubby in on the decision).  I'm happy with how the card turned out.  I hope my sister-in-law likes it!

Be sure to stop by Freshly Made Sketches and check out all the wonderful creations from the Clean Team!  And please come and play.  I'd love to see the sketch you choose and what you create with it!

Freshly Made Sketches #51

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!  Today Cindy Hall brings us a great sketch that I can use for a couple of ideas that I've had for a Halloween card.  Yes, another Halloween card - sorry I can't help it!  I love Halloween!

Ever since I saw the cute patterned papers in the new Haunted Manor collection from Doodlebug, I've wanted to break out my owl punch from Stampin' Up.  Cindy's sketch this week provides the perfect layout for me to use these great patterned papers and my owl punch.  This is what I came up with:

Aren't those little owls cute?  And my big owl with the googly eyes?  What I really like about this card is that I combined products from 5 different companies and it all came together so nicely.  And super fun to make!

The Great Purge has begun ...

Hello All!  Back to work today.  Busy, busy long weekend!  I moved my craft room and I'm going through every craft item I have and purging!  Whew!  I'm exhausted and I've barely started.

I have started adding lots of stamp sets to my For Sale page.  I still have a big pile on my desk to catalog, price and list.  And I still haven't gone through all my Halloween and Christmas stamp sets.  So lots more stamp sets will be showing up this week.  Then I will start going through all my dies.

OMGosh!  How did I get so much stuff?!

Oh, I did get crafty this weekend.  I'll be posting some of my fun throughout this week.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
