Hello - more card sets

Yes, two more card sets!  I actually started these a couple of weeks ago during the May Papertrey Ink release.  When I saw that dies were being released for the Pretty Peonies stamp set, I decided to wait to finish them until I got the dies.  So glad I did!  Pretty Peonies is definitely going to become a classic that I turn to again and again.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Happy Summer!

My crafty weekend continues!  Today I sat down with my new Flipped Out stamp set from Papertrey Ink and made two more card sets.

This is such a cute stamp set.  I paired it with another recent purchase, On the Boardwalk paper pad by W R Memory Keepers.

These are the cards I made for the card sets (two of each):

I love the faded and grungy look of the papers.  To achieve a similar look with the stamped images, I inked up the stamps and then stamped them off onto scrap paper before stamping the image for the card.  I also used some distress ink to extend the grungy look.

The flip flop stamps and dies are so cute.  I love all the different stamp patterns; it was fun matching them to the patterned papers.

With this card I really liked the sentiment that was already on the paper, but I wanted to add just a bit to it.  I pulled out the Wishing You stamp set by Papertrey Ink.  There was no sentiment stamp that just said "Wishing you" but there were lots of them that started with "Wishing you", so all I had to do was mask out the words I didn't want, ink it up, remove the mask and stamp it.  Perfect!

I think the last card is my favorite.  I love the sentiment and when I saw the paper with bikinis and trunks, I knew I wanted to pair a "man's flip flop" with a "woman's flip flop."  The sentiment was actually all on one line, but I masked the stamp and inked it up partially twice to create a two line sentiment to fit on the circle die.

I used a couple of clear boxes from my stash (I keep the boxes the stamps come in) and made my own banners using some sandy beach paper I had in my 12x12 paper stash.  Fun card sets for anyone who loves summer and/or flip flops!  I love my flip flops so much that when my podiatrist said I couldn't wear them anymore (no support!), I searched and searched until I found some that provide the necessary support.  They were expensive but, oh so worth it!  They are the first shoes I step into every morning and out of every night.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you're having a great weekend!

Farm Fresh Wishes

Today I finally had some time to sit and create.  After a busy week, it felt so good.  Earlier in the week I got my release order from Papertrey Ink and all I had time for was to ooh and ah over it.  Today I pulled out the new On the Farm stamp set and made a card set.  I am really enjoying making card sets.  And on the Farm is such a fun set to play with.

After making the cards, I used the clear box the stamp set came in to hold the cards and envelopes.  I removed the box banner and added one I made using the stamp set.  I am really happy with how it turned out.

I love that checker pattern stamp!  So easy to make a background with.  I used two sentiment stamps to make the card set banner title - Farm Fresh and Best Wishes.

My inspiration came from cards by Nichole Heady, Dawn McVey, Debbie Olsen and Jess Witty.  Here are the cards I made:

More stamping fun tomorrow!

Christmas in May

Today I felt like making some Christmas cards so I checked with the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge for May.  The challenge is to use chipboard on your cards.  Well, I love using chipboard and I use it often.  I like making my own embellishments with chipboard and dies.

I pulled out the Waltzingmouse 2011 Holiday Ornaments stamp set and Nestabilities 2011 Heirloom Ornaments dies and made this Christmas card:

I used the chipboard in two different places.  I die cut the ornaments on cream cardstock and chipboard and glued them together.  Very cute!  I can easily see really cute tags or ornaments made with these stamps and dies.  The other place I used the chipboard is behind the card panel.  I wanted something more substantial than the patterned paper by itself because I wanted to pop it up off the card base.

I made 4 of these cards for my stash:

Sending Lots of Happy Thoughts

Today I have one of the card sets I made.  I got this awesome Tim Holtz Shabby Stripes rubber stamp at my local scrapbook store and used it with a Hero Arts stamp set I recently got - Live Life.

I used the clear boxes I've been saving from Papertrey Ink stamp set purchases.  They are perfect for 4 cards per box.  I replaced the wrap-around labels with a gingham patterned paper and stamped with one of the sentiments from Live Life.  I am very happy with how they turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Have a Sweet Day

Happy Weekend!  I've been so busy making card sets this past week ... and really lazy about getting my camera out to take photos.  I promise to get caught up with photos soon.  In addition, I'm helping my daughter prepare for an art show in San Francisco.  She'll be showing her street art photographs.

Today I just had to take a break and make a "regular" card.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #35; another great sketch!  I am into anything fruit-related now so, of course, this card had to incorporate some cute fruit patterned paper from Papertrey Ink - cute name too - Fruitti Tutti.

That's it for now.  Time for some vanilla greek yogurt with strawberries and blueberries, yum!  Then I seriously need to clean my craft table!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hats Off to the Grads!

Today I have the graduation card I made for my nieces who graduated from The University of New Mexico yesterday.  I made two of these cards.  I love the elegance of Papertrey Ink's For the Graduate stamp set.  The school colors are red and silver so I chose red and gray and cream for the cards.  It's a lovely combination.

Congratulations Megan and Melissa!  Wish we could be there.

Thank You

Today's card was made using Sketch #10 from Retro Sketches.  I used a new set of patterned papers from Authentique - Carefree collection - great color combos!   And they look great with this awesome sketch!

The cardstock I used for the card base and framing the patterned papers is Smokey Shadow from Papertrey Ink.  It's a great dark gray and goes with these papers really well.  When it came time for the ribbon, I chose a Fine Linen satin ribbon because I didn't have Smokey Shadow ribbon.  After I finished the card and was putting my ribbon away, there was Smokey Shadow satin ribbon staring right back at me.  What?!  When did I get that?  Oh well, I think the card looks just fine with the Fine Linen ribbon.

Happy for this Day

Happy Monday!  Today's card was especially fun to make!  I used a pretty new patterned paper pack from My Mind's Eye, the Notched Flowers dies I recently got from Papertrey Ink and another awesome sketch from Freshly Made!

Love those Notched Flowers!  And that brad - I have such a weakness for brads, ever since my scrapbooking days!  Hehe!   I was going to add a sentiment but I thought the brad was perfect just as it was.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Let's Chat

Paper Smooches is having a contest for National Scrapbook Day and I decided to join in.  I recently got a few stamp sets from Paper Smooches when my local scrapbook store started carrying them.  They are such fun stamps.  I know I will be adding to small collection.

I used Perpetual Bliss to make this simple, one layer card.  I like the old-fashioned telephone.  While I was stamping it in a few different colors to see which one I wanted to use, I couldn't decide so I used green, pink and blue.
