Happy Holidays

If you celebrate it, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday!  I had a nice quiet day with turkey and lots of time for crafting.  Which is good because I have a craft fair to get ready for as well as a few other projects.

I made these cards for the ladies in my golf club.  Our holiday lunch is coming up soon.  The green and red polka dot paper is perfect for adding a holiday touch to these cards.

I used A Muse cardstock - Sugar solid and Cherry and Grass petite polka dot.  This cardstock is a lighter weight than I have been used to using so I have tended to be heavy handed with it, scoring it hard multiple times.  It is also a white core paper.  In doing this, I have been causing the paper to crack when folding it, very annoying with colored cardstock.  I learned some tips to avoid this cracking and I used them with these cards.  Every single one folded perfectly with no cracking!  Here is what I did:

Score the paper GENTLY and only once, color side up.  Then fold the wrong way, color sides in, white on the outside, almost all the way.  Then fold the right way, using a bone folder to get a crisp fold.

I am thrilled to have finally mastered the art of no cracking because I really like the A Muse cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
