Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Wow! It's time for the September Papertrey Blog Hop challenge already?  I just got my new release order on Friday so I just barely got the stamps put away when I decided to use one of them for this challenge:

We have another amazing inspirational photo for you this month that
we just know will bring out the very best in your creativity!  Look
closely and there are so many directions to go in!  You can choose
to focus on the colors, the stripes, or the repetition.
We look forward to seeing your creations!

I have to say the stripes in the inspirational photo overwhelmed me and it's all I could think of so I went with it.  I decided to keep my card very simple, with clean lines.  I chose one of the stamps from the new Stylish Sentiments: Holiday stamp set.  I love the mixture of fonts.

I embossed the sentiment and it turned out really nice.  I'll have to discuss heat embossing one of these blog posts because it has not been an easy technique for me.  I've been experimenting with different inks and embossing powders.

Thanks for looking!  You can check out the rest of the Blog Hop participants on the list over at Nichole's blog.  Have a great Blog Hop day!

I used this week's sketch from Card Patterns to make another Halloween card today (I'm up to 14 so far; can't help it, I just love Halloween.).

I think Graphic 45's The Magic of Oz is perfect for Halloween.  I had a lot of fun making this card.

How cool is that witch?

Love the stocking legs!

When I got the patterned paper, I also got one of the coordinated stamp sets - the one with the word Wicked and witch.  I stamped the witch, colored her with copics and cut her out.  Then I layered her on the card with foam dimensionals.

Cardstock: PTI Smokey Shadow, Plum Pudding and Fine Linen
Patterned Paper: Graphics 45 The Magic of Oz collection
Stamps: Graphics 45 Wicked Magic 3, Michael's spider and web stamp (dollar bin)

Apothecary Halloween

I recently got the Toil & Trouble and Apothecary Shelf stamp sets from Taylored Expressions.  What fun sets!  I pulled out my copics and went to town!  I cut out the images and popped them up with foam dimensionals.  So cute!

Awesome sentiment!

Sweet Baby

I've had Papertrey's Onesie die for several months now and had not used it yet.  I finally got to use it today because I needed to make a baby card for our gardener and his wife who recently had a baby girl.

I knew I wanted to CASE a card I saw during Papertrey's June stamp release which was when the Onesie die was introduced.  I thought the Onesie card by Debbie Olsen in this post was so cute.  I didn't change it up, I just used different patterned paper and colors.  Here is my version:

Cardstock: PTI Vintage Cream
Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Baby Steps collection
Stamps: PTI Sweet Baby, PTI Tiny Tags and PTI Inside & Out: Baby
Ink: Jenni Bowlin Chewing Gum, Memento Bamboo Leaves
Other: PTI Sweet Baby die, PTI Onesie die, PTI Tiny Tag die, PTI Sweet Blush ribbon, and PTI Rustic Cream twine

Last night I made a quick card for a colleague at work who wanted a birthday card for a 3 year old boy.  I immediately thought of the new October Afternoon paper pad I got several weeks ago.  How perfect!

Happy Birthday Mom!

A quick post with a card I made in August when my computer was down and out; this one was for my mom's birthday:

Love these papers from My Mind's Eye.  I used the rock and roll technique on the flowers, cut them out and popped them up with foam adhesive.  I really like the result with the Half & Half die and these papers.

I'm off to SoCal again this weekend to finish up moving my daughter out of her apartment.  I'm bringing my copics along, my sister wants to check them out.  It'll be a fun coloring weekend with a side trip to Disneyland.  BTW, did you see this copic tutorial by Debbie Olsen?  She is coming to Sacramento in October to teach a Copic certification class and I will be there.  I am really excited about it.

Cardstock: PTI Rustic White
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Blush collection
Stamps: PTI Daydreamer, PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
Ink: PTI Sweet Blush, Pure Poppy and True Black, Memento Cottage Ivy
