My Dies and Punches Book

This is another installment in my gradual organization of tools in my new stamping and cardmaking world.  I have collected so many dies and punches that I forget what I have.  So, after seeing ideas from members of the Papertrey Ink Forum, I decided to make a book that showcases every die and punch I have.  I finally did this several weeks ago.  I took pictures but am just now getting around to posting them.

This took a whole weekend to do.  By the time I was done, (1) I didn't want to see another die or punch for a long time, (2) I realized that I have a ridiculous number of dies, and (3) cheap black paper probably wasn't a great idea as I had black fibers and chads everywhere.

Here are some photos, sorry about the quality:

I stored each diecut and its negative in 5x7 sheet protecters.

This is how thick it ended up.  It is now in a 2.5" binder.

As much work as it was to do this, I love it.  I use it all the time now to find the die I want to use.  One more organization project I can cross off my list.  Yay!

  1. Great idea, Linda. I need to do this at some point. I'm getting overwhelmed by all of my dies as well. Thanks for the plan.

  2. Very cool idea Linda! Organized and compact. What could be better? *smile*

  3. Wow, that's a crazy number of dies! What a great idea to include both the die cut and the negative!

  4. Great job Linda! I am still trying to figure out what I want to do with my dies!

  5. Linda, can you come over and do my dies? Please? What a wonderful idea, thank you for sharing.
