Make It Monday #10 - Happy Easter

This week's Make It Monday #10 challenge at Papertrey is about masking with dies.  This isn't a technique I've really been interested in using before, so this is a good challenge for me.  And, it's the last day of the challenge so I had to get my rear in gear.

I looked through my dies and decided on the egg die.  I cut an egg stencil out of plain paper, applied temporary adhesive to the back of it and laid it on my card where I wanted to put an egg.  I then used the Tim Holtz blending tool to color the inside of the egg stencil with pink distress ink.  I used a stamp from Papertrey's Background Basics: Tin Types stamp set with a darker pink distress ink to create a pattern on the egg.  I repeated the process to create another stenciled egg with blue distress inks.  I think the two eggs look pretty good!  I added a few other elements to complete my card, shown here:

I love the Happy Easter sentiment from The Stamps of Life because it can be colored.  I used atyou Spica glitter pens to add some sparkle.  You can see the pretty sparkle in this photo:

Go to Nichole's blog to watch the technique video for this challenge.  And while you're there, check out the other cards/projects that were submitted.  Very inspiring!
