Follow Your Dreams

For the Papertrey INKers challenge this month, we were asked to create a card or project for someone who is always going out of their way for someone.  Well, I can't say that my daughter Kim exactly fits in that category but she has been in my thoughts a lot and is embarking on an exciting future this year.  She is starting the last quarter of her college career at the Fashion Institute for Design and Manufacturing (FIDM) in Los Angeles, set to graduate in June.  She is also working as an intern in her chosen field of Apparel Manufacturing.  She'll be going to exit interviews, career counseling and job interviews as she is winding down her college life.  It's a scary but exciting time for her.  I remember going through those same feelings when I was graduating from college (oh so many years ago).

Last week, I bought some 6x6 paper packs of some Webster's Pages collections at my local scrapbook store.  Included was the Trendsetter collection, which immediately made me think of Kim.  So I made this card for her:

This card was inspired by this video by Gina K.  Such a cute stamp set and, best of all, I got it free when I purchased over $35 of other Gina K stamps during their 2nd anniversary celebration.

For the inside sentiment, I used a stamp from another stamp set I received recently - Taylored Expressions Dream Big.  I love this sentiment:

On a side note, this is the first time I used my new Tim Holtz Acrylic Grid Blocks collection.  I always struggle with cling mount stamps because they are so much thicker than clear stamps and I often misjudge the distance and don't land the stamp on the paper evenly.  When I saw these thin acrylic blocks, I had to give them a try.  Love 'em!  They work really well with cling mount stamps.
